The Gentleman's Morning hosted by Sorbet!
Shop L49, Beyers Naude Drive, Cresta, Randburg is where all roads were headed on a beautiful Thursday morning where we were hosted by Sorbet Man for their Gentleman's morning which is basically a morning of great skin and hair care talks, champagne and Gourmet breakfast. I thought I should just give you a quick rundown and share all that I learnt that day.
Summer is here, we all want to look, feel and do good and what better way to do that than educating yourself about your skin in the midst of all the travelling, partying and drinking? Sorbet man has partnered with international brands like Dermalogica, Blue Beards, Redken and KST to make sure they cater for all your needs!
We had a talk from Dermalogica who advised us to use Sunscreen since the sun is the main contributing factor to skin aging. There are different types of sunscreens to choose from like chemical sunscreens, broad spectrum and solar defense boosters. Exfoliate continuously to remove dead skin cells, use masks and always put on day and night creams. Men, as much as Women need to have a skin routine and stick to it.
Another interesting talk was from Hairy Eye Beard and Body Shop which is a manufacturer and distributor of natural beard care products and grooming accessories. The talk was all about the beard and highlighting how back then beard was just beard, now there are different types of beards with a personalised style and trimmed according to what suits you. Their top tip was to never trim at home as mistakes could happen that will compromise your beard growth and style, ask your barber since they are informed on beard care and especially Sorbet Man barbers since they were trained at the Sorbet Man academy about every hair and beard care needs as well as trained to do any hair from any ethnicity. The first six to eight weeks of beard grooming is uncomfortable but Hairy Eye advises us to look after our beards to avoid stinking and dryness. The use of beard grooming products is essential especially products such as Natural Base Soap with antioxidants and Beard wax with sheer butter and coconut oil.
After all the talks we were treated to any treatments of our choice and I obviously had to go with a manicure after I neglected my nails for a while! luckily after the awesome treatment I was given the rejuvenating Sorbet Nail and Hand Cream which ensures my hands and nails still get well taken care of after the treatment.
