TEN REASONS TO LOVE BOUCHARD FINLAYSON


Established in 1989 in the temperate Hemel-en-Aarde Valley on 125 hectares of Walker
Bay's prime viticultural land, Bouchard Finlayson Vineyard and Winery is a small cellar
dedicated to the quality production of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
1. Bouchard Finlayson is a family-owned boutique vineyard and winery inspired by the
genuine passion of its owners and the team in the vineyard and cellar.
2. Founder Peter Finlayson was the first winemaker in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley – he
has played a key role in establishing the Walker Bay wine region, which is
internationally recognized today.
3. The unique terroir of Bouchard Finlayson is synonymous with world-class South
African Pinot Noir.
4. A small dedicated team, led by winemaker Chris Albrecht and vineyard manager
Mortimer Lee, handcrafts wines to perfection.
5. Bouchard Finlayson wines are globally acclaimed and award-winning, favouring
quality over quantity.
6. The winery is a sister property to The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, where the
complete range of Bouchard Finlayson wines are proudly showcased; and is part of
the Travel Corporation.
7. A small quantity of estate olive oil is produced, as well as honey from approximately 800 000 bees - displaying the expressive characteristics of this unique terroir.
8. As a WWF (World Wide Fund) Conservation Champion member, guided nature trails
are offered to explore the 100 hectares of preserved fynbos on the estate.
9. Bouchard Finlayson is a supporter of the arts and hosts monthly classical music
concerts by the Hermanus Music Society in the Homestead Cellar.
10. The winery has been a lead sponsor of the local arts community and the Hermanus
FynArts Festival since its inception in 2013.
