Stars from The Apollo heads to the Teatro 20 & 21 September





 Comedy Central and Real Comedy present Stars from The Apollo, on Friday, 20th and Saturday, 21st September at The Teatro, Montecasino. Live at the Apollo is one of the UK’s most prestigious comedy shows, with only A-Category comedians of the highest quality performing. It is an achievement for any comedian to play on this bill at the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre in London. Stars from the Apollo in September 2019 will feature Amos Gill, Mike Wilmot, Neil Delamere and Simon Evans who have all played at the Apollo theatre in London.



Darren Simpson will be the host and MC of the series.


 SIMON EVANS: Simon is one of the UK’s most respected and established comedians. He is a regular on TV and radio. His TV credits include two appearances on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo, one on Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow, and a season of Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week. BBC Radio 4’s, Simon Evans Goes to Market, started a fifth series in April 2019. He is also a regular on Radio 4’s The News Quiz, and wrote and hosted eight series of the news satire, The Way It Is. His live tour shows such as Friendly Fire, Leashed and most recently Genius 2.0 have sold out theatres around the country and garnered superlative reviews from national and comedy press. At the Edinburgh Festival, Genius 2.0 received the rare and highly coveted five star rating from The Scotsman – describing it as a ‘Masterclass’. ‘A masterclass in socio-political comedy…The Show is called Genius.  MIKE WILMOT: Already an established comedian in his home country Canada, Mike Wilmot started working in the UK as a stand-up comedian in 1995. For over 23 years Mike has built up a reputation as one of the unsung heroes of the UK comedy scene achieving rave reviews throughout the country for his unique stand-up. In 2003 he won the coveted Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. His TV work includes; Live At The Apollo (BBC One), Rich Hall’s Fishing Show (BBC Four), Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive (BBC Four), several appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), the host of Comedy Blue on Paramount plus team captain on Shoot the Messenger (Paramount Comedy Channel). Mike also played Paul Kaye’s manager in the award-winning film It’s All Gone Pete Tong.  NEIL DELAMERE: Neil Delamere is one of the most in demand comedians on Irish television and well on track to repeat his success here in the UK. He is best known to UK audiences for a storming appearance on the first series of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow on BBC One. Neil has also appeared on The World Stands Up and Live At The Comedy Store, both on Comedy Central. He recently appeared on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz. His regular TV appearances in his homeland of Ireland include RTE’s The Panel and BBC’s The Blame Game.  AMOS GILL: Amos is one of the hottest comedians in Australia, dividing his time between stand up, radio, TV and acting. A beloved Adelaide figure thanks to his hosting position on the Amos, Cat & Angus show on the flagship station for Australia’s biggest broadcaster Southern Cross Austereo Hit107, where his voice could be heard every morning for four years, in 2018 Amos announced that he was giving up breakfast radio’s notorious 4am rises for good and heading to the USA to crack a comedy scene in which he has already carved out a name for himself. After an impressive appearance as finalist in triple j’s national RAW Comedy competition, Amos went on to earn a nomination for the ‘Best Emerging Comedian’ and ‘People’s Choice’ awards at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe for his solo show You’ve Changed. MICF 2013 saw Amos hand-selected by one of the festival directors to host the prestigious Comedy Zone; showcasing four of Australia’s best new comedians. In 2014 he was once again honoured by MICF with a ‘Best Newcomer’ nomination. He has appeared on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) ABC Allstars Comedy Gala in 2017 been featured on ABC2’s Comedy Up Late, and the Comedy Channel’s Just For Laughs series’ and is a recurring guest on Australia’s Celebrity Name Game. A staple headliner at all the top comedy venues and festivals in Australia and the USA, Amos was recently invited by Jim Jefferies to join him on his Australian and South African arena tour, as well as at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden to a sell-out crowd.
