Capsicum and Barcelos Launch Short Order Cook Bootcamp

Capsicum Culinary Studio, the largest chef school of its kind in Africa, in collaboration with Portuguese fast-food giants Barcelos, has announced the launch of the Short Order Cook Bootcamp. This Gauteng-based 'bootcamp' has been jointly created by both companies to fully prepare participants for the high-pressure setting of the quick service kitchen and is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to excel in a short order cooking environment. The course comprises ten full training days spread over a maximum of three weeks and costs R7 999 per person. The cost includes all ingredients required to complete the training, lecturers by expert Chef lecturers, access to Capsicum's kitchens and other facilities at its Rosebank, Pretoria and Boksburg campuses and the guarantee of a post-course completion interview with Barcelos. Says Capsicum's Marketing Manager Janette Engelbrecht: "This course will not only ensure that those who pass are well prepared to enter a job in the fast food industry immediately upon completion, but will also get graduates a foot in the door with Barcelos which is one of South Africa’s fastest growing Quick Service restaurants (QSR) and fast food chains." Prospective students must have Grade 10 and must be 18 years or older.
