Purely, Queerly, Pan-African
Pride of Africa is proud to launch POSE, the dazzling opening event of Pride Month Johannesburg
2025. This year’s theme, Purely, Queerly, Pan-African, celebrates queerness through art, fashion,
music, and unapologetic self-expression in a safe space dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community.
A Pan-African queer takeover
On Saturday, 4 October at The Nest (2 PM), Johannesburg will witness a Jägermeister-powered
takeover like no other. Expect a high-energy fusion of fashion, music, and drag that honours
African queer identity in all its boldness and brilliance. Guests will sip on complimentary
Jägermeister Orange cocktails, enjoy food and hubbly, and experience a line-up designed to keep
the city moving until late.
The experience

Runway challenges: Free-to-enter, with prizes including cash, Benefit Cosmetics hampers,
vouchers, and limited-edition Jägermeister Pride bottles.

Fashion show: AMEN by Brad & Abiah takes centre stage with a dazzling showcase.●
Music & DJs: Non-stop beats from DJ Imme, Kenzington.co, Deja, Playboiello, Idahum,
Pride DJs Loulou Blu & Holly Diamond, Lotion, HelloKenny, Nahledi, DJ Makhumalo, and
Fabian.

Hosts: Beloved emcees Yaya Mavundla and Adam “The Drag Diva” will command the
stage.

POSE is a celebration of ballroom culture, rooted in the safety and visibility of African queer identity.
By spotlighting diverse talent across music, drag, and fashion, Pride of Africa continues its mission
to create spaces where the LGBTQ+ community is visible, celebrated, and free.
